A child was in critical condition late afternoon, Monday, after being found lifeless in the water on the Pierrefonds-Roxboro borough side in Montreal.
According to the first available information, the child was found in a body of water on the grounds of a residence on St. Croix Street.
Shortly before 6 pm, Urgences-santé was able to confirm that a child was on board an ambulance en route to the hospital. He was in cardiopulmonary arrest, a spokesman said.
For its part, the Police Department of the City of Montreal said that one or two children could have ventured on a swimming pool at the time of the tragedy. This information remained to be validated, said the spokesman Manuel Couture.
The age of the young victim has not been clarified in the immediate future.
